Gmail Data Access
When you connect your Gmail account, we access:
- Limited email access: We only read emails between you and your designated co-parent email address(es). We do not access any other emails in your account.
- Read-only access: We cannot send, delete, or modify any emails in your account.
- Email metadata: Date, time, sender, recipient, and subject lines of co-parent communications.
- Email content: The body text and attachments of co-parent emails for analysis and archival purposes.
We use Google OAuth 2.0 for authentication. We never see or store your Google password.
Usage Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use our service, including:
- Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
- Device information
- Usage patterns and feature interactions

3. AI Processing Disclosure
CEDAR uses artificial intelligence to analyze your co-parenting communications. Specifically:
- AI Provider: We use Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze email content, detect communication tone, identify patterns, and generate summaries.
- What is analyzed: Email content, metadata, and communication patterns between you and your co-parent.
- Purpose: To provide objective analysis, identify communication patterns, and generate useful summaries for documentation purposes.
- Data handling: Email content sent to Anthropic for analysis is processed according to Anthropic's enterprise data handling policies and is not used to train AI models.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Encryption
- In transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
- At rest: Email content and attachments are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
- Cryptographic verification: Each archived email is hashed using SHA-256 to create a tamper-evident record.
Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Access controls and authentication requirements
- Secure, redundant data storage
- Employee security training and background checks
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We Do Not Sell Your Data

Authorized Sharing
You may choose to share access to your CEDAR account and reports with:

- Courts (via official report generation)

- Revoke Gmail access: You can disconnect your Gmail account at any time through your Google account settings or within CEDAR.
Upon account deletion, we will permanently delete your personal information and email archives within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
CEDAR is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@cedarcoparenting.com.
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
